The Dal Yi Dress
The Dal Yi dress is named after my halmoni, Do Dal Yi. She is such an inspiration from the stories of her youth, to what she did for my mother. She sacrificed everything to give her child a better life than what was left in Korea after the war. Which even meant giving up her daughter for adoption. How crushing it must’ve been to take your child to the airport, while they don’t understand what is going on, and not being able to explain. Her life was not easy. From a child to the time she died, she sacrificed everything to give us the life we have now. This dress is for her. 할머니 사랑 해요
